I am a London-based lifestyle photographer, originally from Tokyo. My specialities are food, interior, still life and travel and I work for leading publications and commercial clients in UK and Japan.
I am passionate about food, cooking and eating (of course!). The food culture and its history in different part of the world always fascinated me even as a child and it has been my life-long obsession. At art college I read more cookbooks than art books. I simply believe better food makes better world. The happiest place in the house for me is kitchen and I love cooking and sharing food with friends and family.
My other big interests are conventional photography, ceramics, design, film, craft in all areas, the nature, travel, dance... At Camberwell College of Arts in London, I studied Visual Arts, specialising in ceramics and graphic design.
I love travelling and am an avid traveller but the list of my destination wish-list keeps getting long. It is one of the reasons I wanted to become a lifestyle photographer so I hope to keep travelling and see the world whether personal or work-related.
I appreciate the beauty of simplicity and subtlety. The quality we cherish and respect in Japan, where I grew up.
My clients include:
The Guardian, The Telegraph, Elle Japan, House & Garden UK, Red magazine, Jamie magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Quadrille publishing, Random House, Pavillion, Octopus, John Lewis department store, Volga Linen, Ilse Crawford, Erika Knight, UK Organic Association, Simon Kaempfer etc.
